Brittany Medeiros, Company and Recreational Instructor
Brittany instructs Recreational and Company level Hip Hop and Tap. Brittany danced for 17 years and has been with the Stratford Academy of Dance for 13 years. She has trained with Deborah and Peter Maida and Julie Braziel. Brittany has continued dance education with classes at the Hartford Conservatory, master Tap classes with Brenda Buffalino and Claire O’Donnell, Steps on Broadway, the Alvin Ailey School, and master classes with the Hip Hop Company “Monsters of Hip Hop”. With the S.A.D. company, Brittany competed for three years and was awarded many top scores and grand champion awards. Brittany has been instructing our Company and Rec. Hip Hop classes for six years. Her competition awards include several 1st place achievements, Grand Champions, special awards, and overall high scores. Most recent for the 2008 dance season her Hip Hop company awards include, 1st place overall Hip Hop groups and trio with “Access Broadway” comp., Overall High score line 13 and over with “Sophisticated Productions” comp., Overall High score Level 2 group with “That’s Entertainment” comp., and Most Entertaining Hip Hop duet with “Hollywood Vibe” comp. She has been a guest Hip Hop teacher for many dance programs throughout the area, and acted as coach for the Bunnell High School Dance Team from 2005-2008 and with them won 1st place in competition. Her Hip Hop dance group, Undiscovered, has performed at the Monsters of Hip Hop Showcase, on stage with Dan Zanes at the New Haven Schubert Theatre, and with new recording artist “Rain” In November 2007 at the Stamford Center for the Arts in Stamford CT. Brittany is also currently studying cosmetology and hair at the Brio Academy in Fairfield CT.
