Deborah Maida– Artistic Director and Owner (Miss Deb)
Instructor for Mini Ballet Company, Intermediate Tap Company, Junior Production Company, Adult Tap and Jazz. Deborah has owned and directed Stratford Academy of Dance, L.L.C for the past 27 years, for which she designed and formatted the curriculum S.A.D follows and several other area dance programs have been designed after, including the Fairfield and Trumbull YMCA. She has been listed in Who’s Who Among Professional Business Owners and has been recognized by the town of Stratford Youth and Family Advisory Board for continued service to the community. Deborah received her extensive training from Housatonic College, Rudy Molinaro School of Music, and Master instructors: Roni Mahler, Jerry Rose, Kathryn Sullivan, Luigi, Henry LeTang, Al Gilbert, and Pat Rico to name a few. Her choreography and production credits include more than 45 shows including recitals, school plays, and competition showcases. Deborah has trained many of our areas dance instructors for more than two and a half decades. Her students have been involved in Dance Competition for 23 years. She has students currently training with Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey dance companies, students currently working in NYC off- Broadway shows, Ct Radio, television: local and National, commercials, and students currently holding various CT state pageant titles including Miss Stratford, Miss Ansonia, Miss Trumbull, 2007 Miss Ct Jr. Teen, and 2006 Miss Ct Teen. Her school is consistently rewarded for excellence in all areas including; Technical Execution, Choreography, Costumes, Entertainment Value, and has accumulated more than 3500 awards from various Regional and National Dance and Talent competitions to date. Her school was recognized in the Dance Spirit/Dance Teacher Competition edition magazine for the Senior Modern company in 2003. Deborah has been asked to serve on various judging panels for dance competitions and has received the Top Teacher award at Star Systems Competition. Stratford Academy of Dance, L.L.C with its cutting edge and ever expanding curriculum has successfully become one of the areas largest schools and is proud to be celebrating the 27th season.
