Tracey Pittman, Senior Company Director and Instructor

Tracey has been teaching at Stratford Academy of Dance for the past 25 years.  She is a graduate of the Hartford School of Ballet, and currently teaches Ballet and Jazz for our Junior, Intermediate, and Teen/Senior Companies. Her previous training comes from Laurie Dunnay, and “A Dance Class”.  Tracey has performed at Carnage Hall, with the Martha Graham School, Children’s Theatre, Downtown Cabaret, and a production of Tournado with the Connecticut Opera and Hartford Symphony. In addition to teaching at S.A.D., she also coached Twirling for St. Theresa’s Grammar School and Notre Dame High School. Tracey mentors and teaches Competition Dancers, and has been awarded several Best Choreography awards at Regional and National Dance Competitions.  She has also been the recipient of the “Top Teacher” award with Star Systems Talent Competition in 2003 , and continues to receive many special awards for her groups and soloists.  Most recently in 2008 she received the Entertainment award at Hollywood Vibe “On Location” dance competition. For more than 20 years she was a preschool and kindergarten teacher at Tuller Private School, in Fairfield, and has been a substitute teacher for Six to Six Magnet School in Bridgeport.  Tracey is now Guest Relations for the new Cancer Center at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT.
